For the Record...

• The photograph caption describing the St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church group in St. Ignace's Fourth of July parade, which appeared on page three in the July 12 issue, included inaccuracies. Father Rey Garcia, pictured in the foreground, is the priest at Ste. Anne's Catholic Church on Mackinac Island, and not at the St. Ignace church. Also, the statue being carried in the parade is not that of Father Marquette, but rather Ignatius of Loyola (1491-1556), who founded the Society of Jesus (the members are known as Jesuits). Father Marquette named the city of St. Ignace in his honor. The new priest for the church, Father Al Mott, is pictured on the left in the photograph, but is not identified.

• The page 1 story "Clark Township Annual Meeting: Board Considers Pay Hike, Hears Public Suggestions" in the July 12 issue contained an editing error.

The story reported "annual salaries were proposed to increase by 3.24% (or $72.08) plus $75 per meeting." It should have been stated that the proposal referred only to the two Clark Township trustees, but not the supervisor, clerk, or treasurer.
