Diocese To Celebrate 150 Years

Catholics from throughout the Upper Peninsula, and 10 bishops, are expected to participate in the Diocese of Marquette's Se- quicentennial Celebration Sunday, August 5, at the Superior Dome in Marquette. People of all faiths are invited to come and celebrate.

The 150th anniversary event will begin with the celebration of the Mass at 3:30 p.m. Bishop Alexander K. Sample will be the main celebrant and homilist. The major concelebrant will be Bishop James Garland, who retired as bishop of the diocese in 2005. Cardinal Adam Maida, archbishop of Detroit, will preside.
