Leonard "Lonnie" Leon Cupp, 51, of Pickford worked for Great Lakes Plywood in Kinross from 1979 until he became ill. Mr. Cupp passed away Friday evening, July 27, 2007, in his home, surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer.

Mr. Cupp was born February 13, 1956, in Sault Ste. Marie to Leonard Leon and Mary Ellen (nee Leigh) Cupp.

He married Tina Marie (nee Spurlock) Cupp July 22, 1978.

He is remembered by friends and family members as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, whose children and grandson were his pride and joy, they said. Mr. Cupp was a hard working man who cherished time with his family, and appreciated helping the ones he loved, friends said. He enjoyed many outdoor hobbies, and was especially fond of hunting, camping, and fishing. Friends said he talked about deer hunting all year long. Mr. Cupp also liked riding dirt bikes and working on cars.

Mr. Cupp was a member of the New Horizons Church of the Nazarene in Pickford.

He is survived by his wife, Tina; his daughter and her family, Christine and Kael Zenahlik of Sault Ste. Marie; his son, Matthew Cupp of Pickford; his grandson, Hayden Zenahlik; his mother, Mary Ellen Scarfone; his three brothers and their families, Robin Cupp of Sault Ste. Marie, William and Nancy Cupp of Sarasota, Florida, and Charlie Parker of Belfast, Maine, and his three sisters and their families, Cheri Parker of Adrian, Tonya and Phil O'Rouke of Gaylord, and Shellie and David Chartrand of British Columbia.

Mr. Cupp was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jean Leigh, his grandfather, Jim Leigh, his father, Leonard Cupp, and his father-in-law, Ken Spurlock.

Services were at the New Horizons Church of the Nazarene in Pickford Tuesday, July 31. The Reverend Craig Weihman officiated. Visitation was held prior to services.
