Margaret Jackson

Margaret M. Jackson of St. Ignace worked for many years in the Detroit Public Schools system before her retirement. Mrs. Jackson died at age 85 Friday, July 20, 2007, at Mackinac Straits Hospital Long Term Care Facility in St. Ignace.

She was born August 17, 1921, in Detroit, to Joseph and Margaret (nee McEnhill) Hoelscher.

She earned a master's degree in music.

She married Fred Jackson, a City of Detroit policeman, July 28, 1970. They moved to St. Ignace in 1972. She was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church in St. Ignace.

Mrs. Jackson is survived by her husband, Fred, several cousins, and a host of friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, August 9, at 8:30 a.m. at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church.

Burial will be in Gros Cap Cemetery in Moran Township.

Dodson Funeral Home of St. Ignace assisted the family with arrangements.
