Anna Collins
Anna Elizabeth Collins, 86, of Cedarville, passed away Friday, August 10, 2007, in her home.

She was born June 23, 1921, to Vernon and Rose (nee Eckman) Adams in Cynthiana, Kentucky.

She grew up in Lexington and attended the University of Kentucky. At one of many college dances, she met her future husband, William T. Collins. They were married May 30, 1942, and were married for more than 65 years.

During their time together, they lived in many different locales, including Ann Arbor, while Mr. Collins attended medical school; Cincinnati, Ohio; Oakland, California, during Mr. Collins' time in the service; Grand Rapids; Lima, Ohio, where they resided for 49 years, and finally Cedarville, where they had recently moved into a newly built house.

Mrs. Collins was a member of the Market Street Presbyterian Church in Lima, Ohio. She enjoyed cooking, and her recipes were always in great demand. Dancing was one of her favorite pastimes. Dr. and Mrs. Collins studied ballroom dance together for 15 years, participating in exhibitions and competitions. Her favorite type of music was swing music, and she was known for her jitterbug.

She is survived by her husband, William T. Collins of Cedarville; four children and their families, William T. Jr. and Beverly Collins of Lima, Ohio, Carol Collins of Flagstaff, Arizona, John and Barbara Collins of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Donald and Carolyn Collins of Traverse City; grandchildren and their families, Elizabeth and Ted Nolette, Heather and Bill Zimmerman, W. Thomas and Peggy Collins, Elizabeth and Bill Morrison, John Chase, Margaret Collins, J. Matthew Collins, Phillip and Becky Collins, Ben Collins, and Laura Collins, and five great-grandchildren, Ted Jr., Charles, Billy, Calvin, and Madeline. She is also survived by a brother, Donald Adams of Lexington, Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Vernon Adams Jr.

Memorials may be directed to Vitalcare Hospice of the Straits, 761 Lafayette, Cheboygan, Michigan 49721.

A memorial service will be held in Lima, Ohio. Burial will be at Cedar Cemetery in Cedarville. Reamer Galer Funeral Home of Pickford is serving the family.
