John Williams John Albert Willams, 75, of Pickford worked for Michigan Limestone of Cedarville for 41 years. Mr. Williams passed away Thursday, June 14, 2007, at Mackinac Straits Hospital Long Term Care in St. Ignace. He was born to John Joseph and Florence June (nee Strickland) Williams in Gulliver. Mr. Williams was a member of Stalwart Presbyterian Church and Pickford Senior Citizens. He enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting, and playing billiards. He spent winters in Texas for many years. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Melve (nee Bennett) Williams; five sons and their families, John Oliver Williams of Temperance, Dale Robert and Linda Williams of Cedarville, Thomas Marvin and Marlene Williams of Kinross, Andrew Ben Williams, and Christian Paul and Teresa Williams of Pickford; one daughter and her family, Vivian Grace and Arthur Riemersma of Sault Ste. Marie; 10 grandchildren and their families, Todd, Chad, Scott, Vicki, Keith, Brent, A.J., Ashley, Mishia, and Mandi; six great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Kasey, Caleb, Taylor, Dalton, and Dylan; many extended family members, including nieces, nephews, and cousins, and two uncles and their families, John Mitchel of Newberry, and George Strickland of Sault Ste. Marie. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by a brother, Russel DeWayne Williams. Visitation was held at Ross Funeral Home June 16 from noon to 3 p.m. Arrangements were made by Hovie Funeral Home. |
