Eight Players Score in Bulldogs 55-0 Win Over Rams
"This was a total team effort," said Coach Maloney. "We executed well on defense and offense, and the effort paid off." Josh McCollum and Craig Wallis combined for the Bulldogs' first touchdown on a four-yard scoring pass that culminated an 11-play drive, and Wallis added the two-point conversion for an 8-0 lead. Rudyard exploded for six scores, 35 points, in the second quarter, as Peter Lawlor scored on a 13-yard run, and Jeff Briggs recorded a two-point safety from his defensive end position for a 16-0 advantage. James Perry followed with an 11-yard touchdown, Brady Burby and Ben Gable on one-yard scores, and McCollum to Arik Hesselink on a 17-yard scoring pass. Burby kicked three extra points, and Jake McMillan set one score with a pass interception. C.J. Knutsen had a fumble recovery. Bulldogs Offense: Burby, 143 yards on nine carries; Gable, 65 yards on 11 carries, Perry, 64 yards on nine carries, Lawlor, 63 yards on five carries and one reception for 30 yards, McCollum completed five of six passes for 103 yards, Wallis, two receptions for 28 yards; Todd Anderson, one reception for 22 yards, and Hesselink, one reception for 17 yards.
