Car Crash Claims Life of Curtis Man

One man was killed in a traffic crash on South Curtis Road in Portage Township Tuesday, August 28. Jack Wilkinson, 81, of Curtis crossed the center line and ran off the south side of the road, striking a house owned by James Beach, Michigan State Police reported.

Mr. Wilkinson was transported to Helen Newberry Joy Hospital, where he died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident, which remains under investigation.
