Hospital Recognized for Smoke-free Efforts

Amy Dodds (left), Mackinac Straits Hospital's co-manager of the radiology department and head of the tobacco-free awareness program for hospital employees, accepts an award from Melanie McDowell of Luce-Mackinac-Alger-Schoolcraft Health Department for providing a smoke-free environment and implementing a smoke-free policy at the hospital. Mackinac Straits Hospital became smoke-free Saturday, September 1. No smoking is allowed inside the facility or anywhere on its grounds, including sidewalks and parking lots.
