By David Latva

The undefeated Cedarville Trojans shrugged off a sluggish start to post a 36-6 Mid-Eastern Football League (MEFC) win over the Mid Peninsula Wolverines Friday, September 7.

Mid Peninsula (1-2) scored first for a 6-0 lead after the first quarter, however, Cedarville (3-0) answered with 36 points.

"We started sluggish, but hung together and bounced back," said Trojans Coach Randy Schaedig.

C.J. Paquin scored from 19 yards to tie the score at 6-6 early in the second quarter for the Trojans. The junior quarterback hit Jason Duncan on a 22-yard scoring pass for a 12-6 lead.

The Trojans' strong defensive stand led to a touchdown with 35 seconds left in the first half as Sheldon Tassier dashed 45 yards for the score. Jake Wellnitz converted the extra two points to give Cedarville a 20-6 halftime advantage.

Devon Wilson scored from one yard out at 9:37 of the third quarter, and Paquin and Duncan combined for the twopoint conversion. With 5:37 left in the game, Wade Autore answered on an 11-yard score. Luke Murray closed out the offense with the two-point conversion.
