St. Ignace Saints Girls Place Third at Ellsworth Cross Country Invitational

The St. Ignace Saints girls cross country team finished third at the House on the Hill Invitational, hosted by the Ellsworth Lancers Saturday, September 15.
Six Saints earned medals, led by Chelsea Swope with a time of 22:15, followed by Kristen Olsen 23:10; Page Paul 25:02; Grace Wheeler 25:08; Stacy Goldthorpe 25:11, and Sara Tafelski 25:56.
Remaining runners and their times include Audrey Wyers 26:23; Ivy Thurston 28:20; Samantha Radecki 28:50, and Kayla Gustin 28:58.
Four St. Ignace boys competed with three winning medals. Devon Chargo finished in 19:30; Shane Spring 20:20; Kaiden Shiemke 20:45, and Lewis Steiner 28:00.

Boys Place Second
The Comets were led by Kevin Darrow, who finished in fifth place with a time of 17:51. He was followed by Brandyn Clemens, ninth in 18:36; Chris Laninga, 12th in 18:55; Adam Alexander, 14th in 19:10; Barry Paquet 19:59; Luke Alexander 20:35; Cullen Lawson 21:36; Justin Campbell 22:16; Zach Milholin 25:07, and Tate Paquet 25:18.
Cedarville: The Trojans finished fourth, and were led by Luke Murray with a 20th place finish with a time of 19:44; Matt Schlosser 20:02, Tyler Kanitz 20:52; Clayton Meyers 20:53; Jordan Baker 21:53; Isaiah Murray 21:24; Jeremy Sherlund 21:31; Michael Kinney 21:32; Alex McMaken 22:39, and Adam Dingman 22:54.
DeTour: The Raiders finished sixth, and were led by Teryn Miller with a fifth place time of 18:38; Thomas Worden 15th in 19:23; Chase Livingston 21:15; Andrew Dyal 21:34; Mat Peterson 22:56; Matius Kristensen 23:16, and Paul Stocking 28:33.
Pickford: The Panthers finished eighth, and were led by Richard Gibson with a 19th place of 19:42; Paul Morrison 20:45; Dillon Rye 21:05; Pat Savoie 22:10; Tim Gough 23:10; and McKinley Portice 24:05.

Cheboygan Host Six-team Cross
Country Meet
Cheboygan Chiefs, St. Ignace Saints, Rudyard Bulldogs, Mackinaw City Comets, Onaway Cardinals, and Inland Lakes Bulldogs competed at Cheboygan, with the host Chiefs winning the girls class and the Comets winning the boys division Tuesday, September 18.
Girls Division: The Chiefs finished first, followed by St. Ignace, Rudyard, Inland Lakes, and Mackinaw City.
St. Ignace: Chelsea Swope finished fourth in 24:14; Kristen Olsen ninth in 25:21; Nicole Elmblad 10th in 25:28; Sara Tafelski 12th in 25:58; Grace Wheeler 15th in 26:13; Page Paul 16th in 26:17; Audrey Wyers 19th in 27:00; Stacy Goldthorpe 27:38; Samantha Radecki 29:41, and Kayla Gustin 30:55.
