People in town are looking forward to the activities planned for Bayside Fall Fest Saturday, including the Great Pumpkin Roll, in which youngsters roll pumpkins down the big hill next to City Hall.

      The peak of fall colors has arrived and the trees are ablaze with color. The weather has been almost like summer, and with that big, round full moon in the evening, who could ask for more? Duck hunters began shooting on Saturday morning and we awakened to a volley of gunshots.

      This rainy Monday morning is befitting to the gloomy atmosphere lingering over the Village. Friends and relatives have lost two muchloved men, Milan "Stan" Stanoikovich and Darrol Kraai. Mr. Stanoikovich, my close companion and dear friend, died suddenly Tuesday, September 25.

      What a beautiful October! The leaves are almost all in their fall colors and not too many leaves have fallen yet. It is a great time to drive into the woods and enjoy nature's parade of colors. There is a cool nip in the air and it won't be too long before the leaves are all gone.

      Opening day for bow season opened a bit damp, although warm. It's good weather for falling asleep in the deer blind. Joe and Sharon Chalmers attended a Tigers baseball game last week. The Tigers lost, and Mrs. Chalmer's purse was stolen out of their car while it was parked in the parking lot.
