Search for Great-grandfather's Past Leads Tennessee Couple to St. Ignace

      It has been an interesting eightyear journey for Carl and Faye Johnson of Lebanon, Tennessee, tracking down the history and whereabouts of Mr. Johnson's great-grandfather, Watson Sherman. The journey led them to St. Ignace, where the former carpenter and dock builder died in a tragic accident.

      Traffic crossing the Mackinac Bridge increased 3.8% for the month of August, compared to August 2006, reported Robert Sweeney, executive secretary of the Mackinac Bridge Authority. This August, 574,968 vehicles crossed the bridge, while 553,789 crossed during August 2006.
