Luann (nee Altman) Dunsford, originally of St. Ignace, has been appointed the chief executive officer of Michigan Works! Association, the agency announced October 10.

The workforce development association is made up of Workforce Development boards, local elected officials, and Michigan Works! agency directors from across the state.

Mrs. Dunsford was appointed to the post from her previous position as chief operating officer for the agency. She will be responsible for overall policy, and fiscal, personnel, and programming management. With a background in administration, public accounting, and finance, Mrs. Dunsford holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from Michigan State University.

She is the daughter of Captain Francis and Joan Altman of St. Ignace and a 1980 graduate of LaSalle High School. She lives in the Lansing area with her family.
