Ethel Wagner
Ethel Doris Wagner, 85, of Pickford, died Wednesday evening October 10, 2007, at War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie.

She was born January 24, 1922, in Rudyard to John F. and Emma (nee Ploegstra) Postma. She lived in Rudyard, Grand Rapids, and on Neebish Island.

She married Harold Wagner August Wagner October 5, 1940, in Sault Ste. Marie. They lived on Neebish Island for a while, where they had a milk and egg route. They moved to a farm in Pickford, where they lived for many years.

Mrs. Wagner was a member of the Pickford United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and Northwoods Christian Camp. She enjoyed coffee hour with her dear neighbors, Mae Bawks, Bob and Elaine Slater, John and Clara Hillock, Stan and Marlene Kennedy, and Ed and Mabel Wagner, and she also enjoyed her friends at church. An annual fall outing with her siblings was always a special event for her. She treasured her children and grandchildren and the time she was able to spend with them.

Mrs. Wagner is survived by her children and their families, Evelyn and Jerry Nagelkirk of Grandville, Bruce and Cindy Wagner of Sault Ste. Marie, and her son-in-law, Clarence Wondergem of Pickford. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and their families, Scott and Dawn Wondergem, Joy Wondergem, Brenda and Jeff Rozeveld, Barb and Jim McClurg, Craig and Lori Nagelkirk, Carrie Wagner, and Matt Wagner, and great-grandchildren Holly, Dennis, and Krysta Wondergem, Megan, Hannah, and Jill Rozeveld, Kyle and Andrew McClurg, and Alison, Jason, and Joel Nagelkirk. Also surviving are two sisters and their families, Johanna and Floyd VanSloten of Rudyard and Stella and Fritz Postma of Rudyard; five brothers and their families, Howard and Adele Postma of Rockford, Floyd and Ruth Postma of Grandville, Sherman and Angie Postma of Byron Center, Willard and Coralyn Postma of Zeeland, and Philip and Sara Postma of Rudyard; her sister-in-law, Carol Postma of Allendale, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Ruth Joanne Wondergem, a grandson, Dennis Wondergem, and two brothers, Paul Postma and John Postma.

Visitation was Friday, October 12, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Reamer Galer Funeral Home in Pickford and Saturday, October 13 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Pickford United Methodist Church.

A funeral took place Saturday, October 13, at 11 a.m. at Pickford United Methodist Church with the Reverend Paul Gruenberg conducting the service. Burial was at Cottle Cemetery in Marquette Township.
