Richard Houser

Richard Lynn Houser, 48, of Corydon, Iowa, died Wednesday, September 26, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

He was born December 28, 1958, in Centerville, Iowa. He was the son of Lester "Lee" Houser and Margaret Henderson Houser Davolt. He was graduated from Centerville High School and attended Indian Hills Community College.

Mr. Houser married Jeannine Linacre, formerly of St. Ignace, in Corydon, Iowa, March 17, 2001. He was self employed, doing glass etching, wood work, and many other jobs. He was known as an adept restorer of old cars. He was creative and artistic, creating outstanding glass etchings, friends said.

Mr. Houser is survived by his wife, Jeannine, of Corydon; his stepfather, Wallace "Junior" Davolt of Centerville; children and their families, Jeremy Bratz of Burnsville, Minnesota, Austin Osborne of Centerville, Kerri and Tracy Ford of Kalamazoo, Melanie and Cody Brundage of Powersville, Missouri, Jessie Ewing of Corydon, and Katheryn "K.D." LaChapelle of Corydon; three grandchildren, Jaelyn Hagerstrom, and Russell "R.J." Hagerstrom of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Marleigh Pierson of Kalamazoo, and three siblings and their families, John and Linda Houser of Moravia, Iowa, Gary and Shelley Houser of Wamego, Kansas, and Linda Houser of Iowa Falls, Iowa.

Services were held September 28 at Thomas Lange Funeral Home and burial was at Mount Ararat in Centerville.
