It's time for happy holidays again. In two more weeks, we will be ready for Thanksgiving Day. I hope to be watching the parade, with my feet up, while everything cooks.

Engadine United Methodist Church will sponsor a Hunters Dinner Friday, November 16, at the hall in Engadine. The community meal will be served Wednesday, November 28, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the church.

There will be a craft fair and bake sale Saturday, November 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Germfask VFW Hall. Everyone is welcome.

Everyone may attend "High Tea" Thursday, November 15, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Comfort Inn on US-2 in Manistique. This event will benefit the Manistique Women's Scholarship Fund for Manistique High School students, and is sponsored by Manistique Women's Club, Comfort Inn, and Big Boy restaurant. There is a donation fee of $10. Only 100 tickets are available at the Big Boy restaurant until Monday, November 12. Hats and gloves are optional.

The Manistique Rotary Club will host a spaghetti dinner Saturday, November 10, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Manistique Elks Lodge. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children age 12 and younger, and are available at the door or from any Rotarian member.

Festival of Lessons and Carols Communiy Choir rehearsals are at the First Baptist Church in Manistique Sundays at 2 p.m. The festival will be Sunday, December 16, at 3 p.m. at St. Francis de Sales Church. Everyone is welcome.

Jason David McNeil, son of David and Ann McNeil, and grandson of Hughie and Rachel McNeil, has accepted a job as assistant to the instructor at Collins College in Tempe, Arizona. The John McNeil family, of Gould City and Manistique, is very proud of Jason.

Happy birthday to Verna Engle November 19 and Andrea Keller November 20.
