Stewart Phillips Stewart G. Phillips, 84, of Naubinway, was a World War II veteran who enjoyed a career as a tool and die maker. Mr. Phillips died Tuesday, October 16, 2007, at Mackinac Straits Hospital Long Term Care in St. Ignace. He was born July 23, 1923, in Detroit to George and Irene (nee Webster) Phillips. Mr. Phillips served with the 101st Airborne during World War II. He retired from Morrow Precision Tool and Die shop as a journeyman tool and die maker. He lived in Livonia many years and then in Fenton until his retirement. He moved to Naubinway 15 years ago. Mr. Phillips was a member of the VFW in Engadine, and enjoyed going to the casino. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis. There will be a graveside service in the spring at Epoufette Cemetery, where he will be buried next to his wife. Dodson Funeral Home of St. Ignace assisted the family with arrangements. |
