UConn Walk-on Player Has Area Ties

Donald "Doc" Goudreau III, son of LaSalle High School graduate David (1977) and Kathy Goudreau of Brookfield, Wisconsin, is a sophomore at the University of Connecticut and a member of the Huskies football team.

Accepted into the Dental Scholar Program, Goudreau was a walk-on for the UConn football squad and was red-shirted during his freshman season. This year, he is on the special teams and second on the depth chart for middle linebacker.

The Huskies have progressed from Division I-AA to Division I, and presently have an 8-1 overall record and are tied for first place in the Big East Conference with a 4-0 record after defeating South Florida, which was ranked ninth in the nation at the time, and upending Rutgers 38-19 Saturday, November 3.

Relatives living in the local area are grandparents Don and Dana Goudreau, and uncle Gary Goudreau, all of Trout Lake, aunt Laura Flatt in Engadine. His uncle, D.J. Goudreau, and two aunts, Michelle Paquin and Andrea Tamlyn, reside in St. Ignace.
