Gould City There are many dinners in the works these weeks, with all of the Hunters Dinners around. We will certainly have our choice of meals for a while. The dinners that are served during hunting times are fantastic. The 16th annual "Christmas in Curtis" will be Saturday, November 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Portage Township Hall and the Curtis Elementary School. It will feature arts, crafts, gifts, decorations, and a bake sale. The children can have their pictures taken with Santa, and adults can get in on the Christmas basket raffle, have lunch at the township hall, and donate to the Ladies Aid quilt raffle and drawing. To reserve a space, call (906) 586-3700. Doors open to crafters at 8 a.m. A Hunters Dinner will be sponsored by the Engadine United Methodist Church Friday, November 16, from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Engadine Hall. Cost is $8 for adults and $3 for children age 5 to 12. The Engadine United Methodist Church will serve its free community meal Wednesday, November 28. Everyone is welcome. Thursday, November 15, the VFWAuxiliary 8372 will serve dinner at the Engadine VFW Hall from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Cost is $8 for adults, $3 for children age 5 to 12, and free for children age 5 and younger. The annual Christmas Parade presented by the Manistique Merchants Association will be Friday, November 23, in downtown Manistique. Line-up will be at 6 p.m., with the parade starting at 6:30 p.m. If you would like to enter the parade, call (906) 341-1490. Indoor Amusements will be at the U.P. State Fairgrounds, Ruth Butler Exhibition Building in Escanaba, and the Marine Corps will be collecting toys for "Toys For Tots." Bring in a toy and get $5 off the wristband price.
