Today is Tuesday, November 20, and oh, what a beautiful day! The brilliant sun is shining high in the sky, looking down on a flock of ducks that have come to our patio for their daily breakfast. They're huge, healthy birds that announce their arrival with their quacking. The trees are practically free of their leaves, owing to the high winds of the past week.

Happy birthday November 29 to Nancy Chambers LaBorde of Crivitz, Wisconsin. Have a wonderful day.

We have some lucky hunters to report from nearby Bois Blanc Island: Larry Rickley Sr., Don Francis, and his son-in-law, Mark, of Gaylord. In Doug Rearick and Bob Benser's camps in Gaylord: Doug Rearick, Joe Stakoe, and his son, Joe.

Jason and Glenn St. Onge each got a deer, near Remus. In talking with folks who hunted on Bois Blanc, they said that there was a light dusting of snow Saturday, and it was so beautiful and peaceful on the island. It's a relaxing time for many of the hunters. Tymon Horn will join his dad, Tim, on Bois Blanc for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Things are quiet and peaceful here on Mackinac. Many folks are hunting, while others are enjoying a bit of a vacation on the mainland. Building projects are slow at the moment. The traffic on Cadotte Avenue has a much slower pace these days.
