Mackinaw City Begins Holiday Season Dec. 1

Christmas events in Mackinaw City will begin Friday, November 30, at 5 p.m. with the "Tacky Tinsel Town Car Parade," followed by the tree lighting and the arrival of Santa Claus.

Saturday, December 1, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. shoppers can shop and dine in Mackinaw City. The Mackinaw Crossings will host a holiday open house from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with carolers, cookies, and punch.

The story of the Chrismon Tree will be presented at the Church of the Straits Sunday, December 2, at the 10:30 a.m. service.

Other holiday events include the community cantata "Together for Christmas" hosted by the Church of the Straits and directed by Gussie Williams Sunday, December 9, at 2 p.m.; the Mackinaw City School Christmas Program Friday, December 14, at 6:30 p.m., and the Bible Church presenting "Goodwill to Men" Sunday, December 16, at 6 p.m.
