Loretta Henry Windsor

Loretta Henry Windsor
Loretta Ann Henry Windsor of Westland was former Hessel resident. She worked as a programmer and systems analyst for 21 years in the Westland area after she was graduated from Schoolcraft Community College in Livonia with a 4.0 grade point average.

She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family Friday, November 16, 2007, after courageously and determinedly coping with cancer for 3.5 years, friends said.

She was born October 13, 1960, in Saginaw, to Laurel and Mildred (nee Andrews) Henry. In 1969, the family moved to Hessel, and she was graduated from Cedarville High School in 1978. In 1982 she moved to Westland, where she married her high school sweetheart, Robert "Coot" Windsor in 1986. They have two children, a son, Jesse Ryan Windsor, and a daughter, Kara Lynn Windsor, and they survive her. Friends recall she was a dedicated mother who loved her family dearly.

One of her favorite activities was attending music concerts, and her favorite bands were Pearl Jam and the Goo Goo Dolls. She enjoyed working out, taking long bike rides, and swinging on swing sets as high as she could go, family members said.

She loved visiting family and friends in the Upper Peninsula as often as she could. She was a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.

She is survived by her husband, Robert "Coot" Windsor; her mother, Mildred Henry of Sault Ste. Marie; a sister, Susan Henry of Sault Ste Marie; four brothers and their families, Brian and Evelyn Henry of Sault Ste. Marie, Christopher Henry of Sault Ste. Marie, Stanley and Helen Henry of Republic, and Michael and Dorothy Henry of Hessel, and many nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her father, Laurel Henry, and a special niece, Josie Wells.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, November 19, at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Hessel.

Reamer Galer Funeral Home of Pickford assisted the family with arrangements.
