Heather Pelkie Heather Lynn Pelkie, 42, of Naubinway, and a former Gwinn resident, died Wednesday, November 28, 2007, at Marquette General Hospital in Marquette. Many in St. Ignace will remember her as Heather Hamilton. She was born April 25, 1965, in Marquette to Robert J. and Betty M. (nee Hockin) Pelkie, and resided in Gwinn during her early years. She later earned her GED and attended college for a year. A resident of Naubinway for the past seven years, she was employed as a waitress and also as a maintenance attendant at the highway rest areas. She loved being with her children and was involved in the U.P. Special Olympics program with her son, Martin. Ms. Pelkie enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. She is survived by her fiance, David E. Brown, of Naubinway; five sons, Joshua Howard of Harvey, Jason Hamilton of Parachute, Colorado, Joseph, John, and Martin Manitowabi, all of Sault Ste. Marie; her parents, Robert and Betty Pelkie of Marquette; a brother and his family, Mark and Connie Pelkie of Lakeville, Minnesota; three nephews, and a niece. A memorial serviced will be Saturday, December 15, at the Naubinway Christian Fellowship Church. For time of service, call (906) 477-8090.
