Historic Mustang Lounge Comes Down
 | | Demolition of the Mustang Lounge on Mackinac Island continues Friday, December 7. Workers from Maverick Construction of St. Ignace carry off one of the historic heavy timbers used in the construction of the building. The crew is storing the timber, along with smaller pieces of old wood visible on the sidewalk at right. "All historic material we can put back we are going to," said Tamara Burns with HopkinsBurns Design Studio of Ann Arbor. Jason Klonowski and Larry Myers of Mustang Property Development purchased the popular Island spot November 20. The main floor of the rebuilt structure will include a bar, restaurant, and the addition of street-side dining. A second and third floor addition, set back from the street, will include two apartments and three sleeping rooms. The establishment is scheduled to open in May. |
