Cedarville Trojans Extend Winning Streak to 30 Games

Trojans Down Eagles in EUPC

The Cedarville Trojans boys basketball team's undefeated streak reached 30 victories over a twoyear span after defeating Eastern Upper Peninsula Conference (EUPC) opponent Engadine Eagles 74-44 Thursday, December 13, and winning 75-34 over non-conference foe Harbor Springs Rams Tuesday, December 11.

The Trojans recorded a perfect 26-0 record during the 2006-07 season, capped off with a state championship win, and have compiled a 4-0 overall mark and 2-0 in the EUPC this year.

Against the Eagles in Thursday's game, Cedarville led 54-18 at halftime before Engadine outscored the Trojans 26-20 in the second half. Six players scored eight or more points for Cedarville.

Trojans statistics: Kevin Thompson, 16 points; Jordan Duncan, 13 points; C.J. Paquin, 10 points, six rebounds, five assists; Sheldon Tassier, Taylor Smith 10 points; James Mitchell, eight points; Jason Duncan, three points, five assists, three steals; Alex McMaken, Luke Murray, two points.

Eagles statistics: Phillip Hood, 16 points, three assists; John Troyer, 10 points, four rebounds; Devon Derusha, five points; Joel VanHise, four points; Killian Frisch, three points, five rebounds; Michael Bennett, three points; Tim Rose, two points; Nathan Butkovich, one point; Daron Emery, four assists; Ryan Draper, three steals.

Cedarville Defeats Rams Cedarville led 49-13 at halftime after holding the Rams to two points in the second quarter. In the second half, the Trojans outscored Harbor Springs 26-21.

"The Harbor Springs game was the best overall game we have played all season," said Trojans Head Coach David Duncan.

Paquin, 12 points, six assists, five steals; Kevin Thompson, 10 points, six rebounds; Taylor Smith, 10 points; Jason Duncan, nine points, 10 rebounds, four steals; Sheldon Tassier, eight points; James Mitchell, five points; Matt Nelson, three points; Scott McGreevy, two points.

The Trojans will host Posen Wednesday, December 19, and Brimley Friday, December 21, before the holiday break.
