Strike up the Bands! It's Christmas Time

Cedarville Sixth Grade Band members warm up before their December 10 performance at the Winter Concert. Cedarville High School Band opened its portion of the December 10 Winter Concert with a rousing rendition of the Richard Saucedo composition, "Into the Clouds!," a piece written last year about the composer's experiences as a pilot, Music Director Alan Jacobus said. The Cedarville Woodwinds Quintet, a spin-off of the Cedarville High School Band, includes (clockwise, from left) Karissa Schlosser, Emily Pieri, MacKenzie Sudol, Erin Smith, and Alice Coyne. They performed December 10 at the Cedarville High School and Middle School Winter Concert. Music Director Alan Jacobus (seen behind the group) watches the performance, and said the students formed the quintet on their own and practice weekly on their own time. It is a common type of ensemble, he told the audience, but not typically found at a Class D school.
