St. Ignace Quiz Bowl Team Earns Victory Over Ithaca

The St. Ignace Saints bested the Ithaca Yellowjackets on the quiz show "Quiz Central" in an episode that aired on public television Wednesday, December 19. The match ended with the Saints winning the Blue Division First Round game over the Yellowjackets, 180 to 110.

The team from LaSalle High School will now move on to the Blue Division Semi Finals. Saints team members are Angela Cena, Michael Wilk, Brendon Steiner, Shane Spring, Kaiden Shiemke, and Lewis Steiner.

CMU Public Television's original program, "Quiz Central," now in its third season, includes 32 teams from central and northern Michigan.

Teams compete in four divisions, based on school size. The top team from each division will be crowned a champion and will be awarded four $2,500 one-year scholarships to Central Michigan University.
