Cedarville Cruises Past Posen
in Non-conference Contest
Ten players scored for Coach David Duncan as his Cedarville Trojans, 5-0 on the season, cruised past the Posen Vikings 79-36 during a non-conference game Wednesday, December 19.
The Trojans were hitting on all cylinders as seven players scored eight or more points and led 6-0 during the first two minutes of play, outscoring the Vikings 15-4 during the final four minutes of the first quarter for a 25-11 scoring advantage.
Cedarville held Posen scoreless during the next five minutes while building a 41-11 advantage, and held a 52-15 halftime margin before outscoring the Vikings 27-21 during a running clock (once a 40-point lead is set) in the second half.

Cedarville will travel to Posen to take on these same Vikings Saturday, January 5, and entertain St. Ignace Wednesday, January 9.
Trojans JV Team Downs Vikings
The Cedarville junior varsity team defeated Posen, 74-42.

Balanced Scoring Lifts
Comets OverWildcats
Four players scored in double digits, and a fourth quarter rally lifted the Mackinaw City Comets to a 71-51 Northern Lakes Conference win over the Wolverine Wildcats Tuesday, December 18.
"We had different players step up in each quarter and, physically, we came out strong in the fourth quarter," said Comets Head Coach Garth Law.

The Comets led 11-6 after the first eight minutes. The five point lead stood after both teams scored 17 points in the second and third quarters, for a 45-40 score going into the final eight minutes.
Mackinaw City outscored the Wildcats 26-11 in the fourth quarter as Barry Paquet and Logan Paquet led the offense with nine points each down the stretch.

Comets Down Yellowjackets
The Mackinaw City Comets boys basketball team rebounded from a home defeat to DeTour to down the Vanderbilt Yellowjackets 58-24 during a Northern Lakes Conference contest Monday, December 11.

The Comets held the Yellowjackets to single-digit scoring in every quarter with a 33-7 halftime lead, and outscored Vanderbilt 25- 17 in the second half.
Mackinaw City will entertain Harbor Light Christian Thursday, December 20, at home.

Engadine Struggles in Defeat
to Big Bay Black Bears
Engadine Eagles boys varsity basketball team suffered an 83-40 setback at the hands of Big Bay de Noc Black Bears Monday, December 17.
"This is the poorest game we have played this season," said Eagles Head Coach Elmer Albright.
The host Black Bears led 17-5 after the first eight minutes and increased the margin to 34-11 with a 27-6 scoring advantage in the second quarter, before outscoring the Eagles 49-29 in the second half.

Levi LaTulip led the Black Bears with 32 points, including 20-for-20 from the free throw line.
The Eagles have time off until a road game at Pickford Thursday, January 3, and at Rapid River Monday, January 7.
