Rexton-Garnet
If the snow birds could see our lack of snow cover this week, they may come home early, however, the unseasonably warm weather is not expected to last. After all, it's still January.
Dale and Evelyn Burgess have taken up residence in their winter digs in sunny Florida.
An after-Christmas visit at the home of Rosie Prater brought her daughter, Snooks, and granddaughter, Debbie.
Daryl and Penny Browning and their daughters, Tristina and Shannon, enjoyed a Christmas day visit downstate with their son, Brandon.
The Engadine Class of '63 has offered their condolences to the family of classmate Jim Price, including his wife, Joan, and daughter, Melanie, and a brother and sister. Although most of the class has dispersed to various parts of the country, our class was small and we're fast approaching our 45th year since graduation. Mr. Price's passing will leave another empty spot.
The Engadine Education Foundation is accepting donations in honor of Mr. Price on behalf of the class. Donations may be sent to Sally King Schultz of Naubinway, and she will see that they are forwarded to the Education Foundation.
Condolences also to the family of Evelyn O'Neil, a lovely lady of Gilchrist. Years ago, when the school bus stopped in the morning, I could always see her in the window with a friendly smile and wearing her "good cook" apron.
This Wednesday at the Rexton Mennonite Church marks the first "TGIW" get-together, beginning at 6:30 p.m. for supper. At 7:30 p.m., youth groups and adults will meet. Everyone may come and bring a friend to enjoy this middle-of-theweek get-together.
Birthday wishes to Ben Maison, who celebrated January 4, Rodney Bigelow January 5, Elicia Derusha January 6, Tillie Frazier January 7, Kaitlan Prater, along with "Mr. Can Do and Fix Anything" Robert "Porky" LaPine January 8, our neighbor, Ed Hins, and Aspin Hood January 10.
Anniversary wishes to Terry and Phyllis Gouza January 10.
