We sure have been getting our share of snow lately, and that's to be expected in the Upper Peninsula.

The Fraternal Order of the Eagles reports people do not have to be a member to join them for a meal, or stop in to visit. Kitchen specials are offered every day, and Friday is Fish Fry night, except the first Friday of the month, which is reserved for the original Cajun Shrimp Boil. There will be a "Chili Cook Off" at the hall Saturday, January 19. The price is $5 to enter your favorite recipe, and $2 to taste and become a judge. Other events coming up are a rotisserie chicken meal Saturday, February 2, and a Wild Game Dinner Saturday, February 16.

Congratulations to Jim and Barb France, who will celebrate their wedding anniversary January 27. Mr. France's birthday is February 8.

Volunteers who would like to help when the "Moving Wall Vietnam Veterans Memorial" comes to Manistique July 24 through July 28 are asked to contact Pam Weber, Wall Coordinator, at (906) 341- 1109.

The Moving Wall is a half-size replica of the Washington, D.C., Vietnam Veterans Memorial and has been touring the country for more than 20 years. It will be an honor to have it in our community.
