Condolences to the family of Eric Autterson of Newberry, who passed away Thursday, January 31, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Eric was a 2007 graduate of Newberry High School. Please keep the family in your prayers during this difficult time.

Condolences also to the family of longtime businessman Gerry Gerwatowski, who passed away Saturday, February 2. Mr. Gerwatowski owned Tahqua Lanes in Newberry. Please keep his wife of 48 years, Sherry, and the family in your prayers.

Saturday, February 9, (bad weather date Sunday, February 10), don't miss the Winterfest Ski Plane Fly-In at the Luce County Airport, starting at 11 a.m. There is no charge for admission. All-you-can-eat lumberjack stew will be served by the Newberry Lions Club. Cost is $10 donation for adults and $5 for children.

The Newberry American Legion will be having an all-you-can-eat breakfast Sunday, February 10, from 8 a.m. to noon. Cost is $6.50. The public is invited.

The Newberry Eagles Club will have pizza night Tuesday, February 12, from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the club on M-28.

The Curtis Winter Carnival will be Saturday, February 16. Events include a chili cook-off, music, food booths, bake sale, games, cake walk, children's piñata, ice golfing, turkey bowling, kid's mini sled challenge, Curtis Fish Coop ice fishing, and fireworks sponsored by Three Lakes Area Fireworks Council.

The 16th Annual Vintage and Antique Snowmobile Show will be Saturday, February 16, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Naubinway.
