State Representative Gary McDowell has sponsored a bill that would allow totally disabled veterans and former prisoners of war to purchase hunting and fishing licenses for $1 and receive camping and state park passes free.

The bill has passed the House and is in the Senate. Call State Senator Jason Allen's office at (517) 373-2413 and tell him you support the veterans and want this bill to pass the Senate.

We often think of totally disabled veterans as being well taken care of. A totally disabled veteran with a spouse gets about $2,610 a month. That is not living high these days.
