Students To Perform at Band Festival Friday at Cedarville's Duncan Gym
Bands from Cedarville, DeTour, Engadine, and Newberry schools will compete in the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association (MSBOA) State Band Festival Friday, April 25, at Les Cheneaux Community Schools in Cedarville. All performances will be in the Duncan Gymnasium and the band room at the school, and food and beverages will be served in the school cafeteria. Admission is free and the public may attend performances. Audiences should plan to be seated 5 minutes before performances. Doors will be closed to prevent interruptions during performances and judging.
The state band festival is the final level of competition in the MSBOA. Bands that scored well in district festivals qualify to compete at state festival.
Cedarville High School Band will perform at 8:30 a.m.
DeTour Village High School Band will perform at 9:20 a.m.
Cedarville Middle School Band will perform at 10 a.m.
Engadine High School Concert Band will perform at 10:55 a.m.
Newberry Tahquamenon Area High School Concert Band will perform at 11:20 a.m.
Other bands competing in the festival include L'Anse High School Symphony Band, Tecumseh High School Symphony and Concert bands, and the Alpena High School Wind Ensemble. Complete schedules are available online at the school's Web site.
