Engadine Girls Down DeTour in Golf Opener
      The Engadine Eagles girls golf team opened the season with a win over the DeTour Raiders at the Munoscong Golf Club Thursday, April 24. The Eagles recorded a fourplayer score of 297. The Raiders, with just three players, failed to register a team total.

St. Ignace Softball, Baseball Off To Positive Start
      The St. Ignace Saints snapped a six-game losing streak with a doubleheader sweep of the Brimley Bays, 9-2 and 21-11, Monday, April 21, and Wednesday, April 23. The Saints also split with Sault Ste. Marie, losing the first game 8-6, before winning the nightcap, 5-2.

Trojans, Panthers Win Morrison Track Invite
      The Cedarville Trojans boys and the Pickford Panthers girls teams captured the Web Morrison Track and Field Invitational championship Saturday, April 26. For the boys, the Trojans tallied 126 points, followed by North Central with 114, Pickford 69, Rudyard 56, DeTour 53, Bloomingdale 40, Rogers City 34, Brimley 29, and Mackinac Island 2.

Saints Softball Team Hosts Car Wash May 11
      The St. Ignace girls softball team will hold a car wash Sunday, May 11, at the Mackinac Grille Restaurant in St. Ignace, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The girls will vacuum and wash cars for a donation, and, as a courtesy, will assist drivers with filling their vehicle at the Shell gas station across the street.

Saints Golfers Finish Tenth
      The St. Ignace Saints golf team opened its 2008 spring season finishing 10th out of 19 teams at the Inland Lakes Invitational Saturday, April 19. Tyler Mapes, who finished 12th overall, carded an 83 to lead the Saints linksters, followed by Jeff Gamble at 91, Justin Frazier 98, Dane Christiansen 100, and Erik Grondin 116.
