Fundraiser Will Benefit Arts Council
The E.U.P. Fine Arts Council presents its first "Races for Restoration" Saturday, May 3, Kentucky Derby Day, with all proceeds to be used toward restoring the former Sacred Heart Hall, now known as the DeTour Fine Arts Cultural Center.
The televised Kentucky Derby races will begin at 7 p.m. Bets will be placed before each race using the "race day happy money" provided with admission tickets. At the conclusion of the racing, participants may use their winnings toward a variety of items at auction. For those who do not do well at the track, additional "happy money" may be purchased.
Tickets for the event are $15 and include a money packet, beverages, and snacks and may be purchased in advance from Fine Arts Council board members or at the door. Kentucky Derby hats and race day attire are encouraged by the council, but not required.
