If this weather doesn't start cooperating, we may not have many front-porch visitors. Denny Rippett did stop by this past week, only to be run into the house by the mosquitoes, but we did have a nice chat. Jackie Rippett has arrived at the Rippett home, after taking care of things at their other home in Waterford. It's good to have them both back up north. Joe Matelski joined us for a cup of coffee Saturday morning.

Ann and Jim Dyer spent two weeks in Dayton, Ohio, with their daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Steve Orlando, and their daughters, Nickie and Jessie. Cause for celebration was Nickie's high school graduation, and Ann and Jim's 50th wedding anniversary.

Norm Dyer and Lee Dyer of Phoenix, Arizona, spent the weekend with family. They celebrated with dinner theater, after which the family gathered at the Orlando home for cake and more celebration. Congratulations to all.

There was a little concern as to when Jim and Ann were coming back home, as Trinity Lutheran Church wanted to plan a little surprise brunch for Jim and Ann's anniversary. We planned it, and the consensus was, if they weren't here, we would celebrate anyway, and take pictures. They did show up at church Sunday morning, and we enjoyed a lovely brunch after the service. There was lots of food and lots of visiting.

Jerri Rose delivered the message Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church, as Pastor Tari is with the youth group in Alaska.

Bob Jarzynka has been busy planting flowers and tomatoes this week. He also has checked out the potential blueberry crop and it's looking good, if it doesn't dry up as in past summers.

The Brevort fox was spotted at Tom Coffey's driveway Sunday.

We received an announcement of the marriage of Kirk and Laura Liebengood, which took place March 8 with both their families in attendance. The Liebengoods live in Perry, and are frequent visitors to the Brevort area. Congratulations to the couple.

While on my way to call on Joe and Sharon Chalmers Saturday, June 7, Dave and Charlene Kull called me over to come and visit on their front porch. We had a nice visit, talking of family and weather. The Kulls are from Brighton.

Denny Rippett observed a bald eagle enjoying some prey at the edge of the beach in front of his and Jackie's condominium.

Please keep Jim Rose in your prayers, as he is in Northern Michigan Regional Hospital in Petoskey undergoing tests for a heart condition. Sharon Chalmers and Jackie Rippett are with Jerri today as she waits for some of the procedures to be done. Jim expects to be there for 72 hours.

While in Petoskey last week, Dave and I ran into Debbie Garcia. The girls, Kristi and Jodi, made a plaque for Dave when he retired from bus driving, that is still in plain sight on the bookshelves, I told Debbie.

Mary Carney is now out and about her home, garden, and store.

Jim and Jackie Rogers set up a campfire wood stand near the bookstore. A bluebird has set up housekeeping in a sheltered spot on the rack. Things were rearranged so as to accommodate her. We wish them good luck on both selling wood and raising babies.

Larry and Mary Ann First have five new hare hunting hounds, about a week old.

All of the Brevort businesses are gearing up for the summer season, hoping the tourists can get as far as the Eastern Upper Peninsula.

Happy birthday to Mallory LaLonde June 10 and young Jake Weiss June 17.

Happy anniversary to Sharron and Larry Lasley June 13.

Remember your dads Sunday, June 15. Happy Father's Day to all of the dads out there.
