Theodore Aslin
      Theodore "Ted" M. Aslin, 78, of Newberry, was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. Mr. Aslin died Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids. Born May 27, 1930, in St. Ignace, he was the son of Albert and Frances (nee Smith) Aslin.

Gerald Harrison
      Gerald Alexander Harrison of Pickford was a master plumber and owner of Gerald Harrison Plumbing and Heating for 30 years. He was also a former member of the Pickford Township Board, serving as a trustee and clerk. Mr. Harrison was 90 when he died Saturday, June 28, 2008, in Sault Ste. Marie.

      Roberta "Bert" A. Montgomery, 68, of Engadine, died Monday, June 23, 2008, at Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital in Manistique from complications of a stroke. Born December 17, 1939, in Detroit, she was the daughter of Robert and Norma (nee Bigelow) Mihlader.

John Wilson
      John G. Wilson of St. Ignace was a U.S. Army veteran who was decorated for his service in Korea. Mr. Wilson died at age 78 Monday morning, June 30, 2008, at Mackinac Straits Hospital in St. Ignace. He was born in St. Ignace November 5, 1929, to George and Grace Mary (Albright) Wilson.

      Catherine Therrian of St. Ignace, 85, died early Tuesday morning, July 1, 2008. She was born January 15, 1923. Funeral arrangements are incomplete, and are being made by Dodson Funeral Home of St. Ignace.

Christopher Bloswick Sr.
      Christopher D. Bloswick Sr., 51, of St. Ignace, had a lifelong interest in Great Lakes boats and established several local businesses. He passed away Tuesday morning, June 24, 2008, at Lacks Cancer Center in Grand Rapids following a seven-year illness with bone marrow cancer.

Charles Hills Jr.
      Charles Willis Hills Jr. of Hessel enjoyed cooking, and worked as a cook at several area restaurants over the years. His "cheeseburger soup" was a favorite dish of his patrons. For many years, he owned and operated The Ponderosa Restaurant at Nunn's Creek, and he also sold smoked whitefish.
