Mackinac Island
Summer is the season of adventure, when the days grow longer, and the sun, the moon, and nature's beauty can be seen in colors of a rainbow. Riding around the shore of our Island, one can find yellow daisies, buttercups, and black-eyed Susans. Owing to the amount of rain we've received recently, the lawns and trees carry a vivid velvet green color. Also, along the way, you may see a mama goose and her little family of goslings, swimming in the Straits of Mackinac. Riding in front of Grand Hotel, visitors see the American flags waving in the breeze from the longest veranda in the world. Below, in the gardens, there are colorful beds of pansies, in colors from yellow to deep purple. Visitors from all over the world enjoy the beauty of Mackinac.
