Hester Leads Christian Fellowship Church
Reverend Scout Hester and his wife, Davine, are the new leaders of Les Cheneaux Christian Fellowship Church in Cedarville. Reverend Scout Hester took leadership of the Les Cheneaux Christian Fellowship Church in Cedarville May 16, as Reverend Lyle Kelley stepped down from the position. He is the third pastor the church has had since it was founded by James Cousineau, who moved to Escanaba to start another church.
Reverend Kelley and his wife, Theresa, led the fellowship for eight years after they succeeded Pastor Cousineau.
Reverend Hester has served in the ministry for more than 16 years, starting in Sandusky, where he was a pastor for Reverend Bill Anderson Ministries. He and his family returned to the Upper Peninsula in 2000, when he accepted a teaching position in Brimley. He and his wife, Davine, were both born and grew up in Cedarville, so they felt blessed to return to the community they consider home, they said. They have two children, Joshua and Hope, who both attend Les Cheneaux Community Schools.
The Kelleys plan to spend more time hunting, camping, fishing, and traveling, but will remain active in the Les Cheneaux Christian Fellowship Church. They have two daughters, Monica, who lives in Pickford with her husband and two sons, and Brittney, who attends Cedarville High School.
Church services are Sunday at 10 a.m. and Wednesday at 7 p.m.
