Catherine Therrian Catherine Therrian Catherine Therrian, 85, of St. Ignace passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at Mackinac Straits Hospital Long Term Care, following a short illness.

She was born January 15, 1923, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to John and Elizabeth (nee Mollner) Schiltgen.

She grew up on a farm near Engadine, and attended school there.

She worked in restaurants in St. Ignace, and for the last several years she worked at Indian Village in the tourism business. At one time, she also worked for Shores Restaurant and the Nicolet. She worked until she was 76 years old.

She married Lloyd Therrian in 1941, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Detroit.

She is a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church and St. Ann's Altar Society. She also was a former member of Women of the Moose.

Mrs. Therrian enjoyed working with tourists visiting St. Ignace, friends said.

She is survived by a son, Kenneth, of St. Ignace; two daughters and their families, Barbara and George Yshinski of St. Ignace, and Judy and David Fedderson of Coventry, Connecticut; two sisters, Marie Oliverius of Newberry, and Helen Stone of Temple Terrace, Florida; four grandchildren, Christopher, Stephanie, Jennifer, and Barbara; two great-grandchildren, Christopher and Hayley, and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Therrian died in 1964. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Therrian was preceded in death by a son, Alan, who died in 1981; a sister, Elizabeth, and two brothers, Albert and Leo.

Friends called at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church Saturday, July 5, from 10 a.m. to noon. Mass of Christian burial was at noon at the church with Father Allen Mott officiating. Her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren served as pallbearers. Burial was in Gros Cap Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the Church Renovation Fund, with envelopes available from Dodson Funeral Home, which assisted the family with arrangements.
