Water Warriors Raise Funds for Special Olympics
      To raise money for Special Olympics, a group called Water Warriors has embarked on a 400- mile run across Lake Huron. The run began in Mackinaw City Monday, July 21, and finishes Friday, July 25, at Idle Hour Yacht Club on Harsens Island.

Sea Lamprey Control Planned for Hudson Creek
      U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service personnel will apply lampricides to sections of Hudson Creek in Mackinac County, Valentine Creek in Delta County, and Bulldog Creek in Schoolcraft County to kill sea lamprey larvae burrowed in the stream bottom.

Saints Varsity Volleyball Tryouts Set
      St. Ignace Saints varsity and junior varsity volleyball tryouts are scheduled for the first three days of practice Monday, August 11, through Wednesday, August 13, at the middle school, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Coaches Gracia Marshall and Mandy Scott will meet with the players at 5:30 p.m. before the first day of tryouts begins.
