West-Mackinac Garden Club Offer Hypertufa Planters Demo
2008-07-24 / News
Sharon Spencer and Marcia Waters of the West-Mackinac Garden Club will present a demonstration on hypertufa planter construction Thursday, July 24, at 7 p.m., at the home of Marcia Waters in Naubinway.
Hypertufa planters are planters constructed of a mixture of peat moss and cement. Ms. Spencer and Ms. Waters will demonstrate the preparing of simple molds, the mixture, and the curing steps. The resulting planters can be varied in shape, depending on the box or tub used as a mold.
The West-Mackinac Garden Club meetings are open to all people who are interested in horticulture, conservation, or landscape and design. For more information or driving directions, contact Caroll Harper at (906) 477- 6163.
