The busy days of summer are filled to capacity.

The 20/20 youth group from the Rexton Mennonite Church have returned from the mission trip to Chicago. They left with a lasting impression of life in the inner city.

MaryEllen Stephenson, accompanied by her son and daughter in-law, Earl Jr. and Cindy, and grandson, Michael, traveled to the Buckeye state for a family reunion.

At the Burgess home for the week are Dale's daughter, Jennifer and family. Following their visit, they will extend their vacation to the Wisconsin Dells before returning home to begin the start of another school year.

The Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians youth held their annual powwow at the Garnet Park recreation area this past weekend. The grounds, following their departure, was just as if an event had never taken place, as the youth did a fine job in keeping the area well taken care of.

An address for Donna Derusha, who continues to improve in a Grand Rapids hospital, is in care of her sister, Susan Bazen, at 2128 Shiloh Pte. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525.

A special anniversary was held at the Heuck cottage on Rose Point on Big LaSalle Island last week, marking 100 years of its existence. A flag marked "100 years" was flying as guests and members of the Heuck family gathered for the anniversary. Birthday wishes to Dale Burgess and Randy Cobe August 5, Roy Livermore and Lil Hoerz August 7, and Dale Albrecht, Buster Peters, and Samantha Martis August 8.

Anniversary wishes to Kevin and Connie Gouza, Butch and Debbie Formolo, and Hank and Melissa McClure, all celebrating August 5.

A moonlight golf tourney will be Friday, August 8, at the Hiawatha Sportsmen's Club. This has generated quite a bit of curiosity among those scheduled to participate. (I hope no one decides to dispose of a club; it might be a little difficult to recover. I'm sure all of the golfers are mild-mannered and even-tempered.)

They were attending the event with their mother, Melinda, and were staying in Hessel with their grandparents, Phyllis and Terry Cox.
