"Bark in the Park" will take place Saturday, August 16, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the marina grounds in St. Ignace. The event begins with a dog parade through downtown, followed by contests for cutest dog, best trick, best costume, smallest dog, largest dog, and "best tail wag."

Registration is $15 and includes a T-shirt and bandana. All proceeds will benefit homeless pets in the Mackinac County Animal Shelter.
