The last vesper cruise scheduled for St. Ignace by area churches Tuesday, August 12, was canceled, say church organizers, as funding could not cover the cruise cost.

The St. Ignace Ministerial Association, which charters an Arnold Line ferry for the evening cruises, said donations did not cover their costs.

Vesper Cruises will continue from the main Arnold Line dock in Mackinaw City. Scheduled Sunday trips remaining this year include August 24 at 8 p.m., and a 6 p.m. trip is planned for August 31.
