Dorothy Wolter Dorothy Wolter Dorothy Adeline Wolter, 86, of St. Ignace, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2008.

She was born May 3, 1922, to Robert and Jessie (nee Leach) Elliot in Romeo.

Mrs. Wolter worked as a bookkeeper, a factory employee during the war, and also owned and operated a family farm for years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, friends said. She lived in St. Ignace for the past 20 years, leaving behind many friends and church family.

Mrs. Wolter is survived by her three children and their families, Edmund and Claudia Wolter of Atlanta, Michigan, Shirley Pazik of Howell, and Helen Thompson of St. Ignace; nine grandchildren and their families, Roger Pazik, Mike Pazik, Darren Wolter, Brandon Wolter, Timothy and Kelly Stevens, Richard and Jessie Klein, Ben and Geri Thompson, Theresa and Fred Shibler, and Alan Klein; six greatgrandchildren; one great-greatgrandchild; 20 step-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Lawrence, an infant daughter, Barbara Jean Lawrence, her second husband, Edmund Leo Wolter, and two sons-in-law, Roger Pazik and Benjamin Thompson.

Services were Monday, August 11, at Green Funeral Home in Hillman, with Pastor Tom Penner from Straits Evangelical Free Church in St. Ignace officiating. Interment took place in Montmorency Township Cemetery.
