Etta Thomas Marks 90th Birthday

Etta Thomas Etta Thomas, formerly of Fibre and now of Dimondale, will turn 90 years old Sunday, August 24.

She was born in 1918 in Dibert to Nina (nee Atwell) and Jacob Augustus Rader. She was the youngest of nine children, including Lloyd, Ralph, Augusta, Ardith, Lena, Pauline, Jacob, and Margaret.

She married Fay Thomas of Fibre July 11, 1936. They resided in Fibre for 69 years, farming, and raising cattle, chickens, and raspberries.

Mr. Thomas passed away in September 2005, and Mrs. Thomas continued to live in Fibre until December 2007, when she moved to Dimondale to be near family.

She has been a longtime member of the Grace Brethren Church of Ozark. Her favorite hobbies are reading, baking, and spending time with her family, friends, and her cat, Susie.

Her daughters and their families, Sally and Mark Sneller of Saugutuck, and Donna Rae and Leo Barens of Dimondale, along with her grandchildren, will host an open house birthday party for her Saturday, August 23, at the Misty Cove Senior Apartments Community Center in Dimondale.
