Olsen, Visnaw Win Individual Golf Titles

Brian Olsen (154) won his first title and Ruth Visnaw (174) captured her third crown during St. Ignace Golf Club championships Saturday, August 16, and Sunday, August 17.
Olsen, from the championship flight, and Jo Jo Visnaw, from the first flight, tied for first place with a 36-hole score of 154 before Olsen won the championship on hole two, par three in the sudden death match.
Matt Mortensen placed second with a score of 155 and Lou Grondin took third with 146, while Jane Perry recorded 184 to finish second, and Fay Massey finished third with 184 in the championship flight for the men and women.
Jo Visnaw won the first flight with a score of 154, Jesse Pemble was second at 158, and Bob Sweeney was third with 160.
Mike Bishop took first in the second flight with 163, Bob Brandstrom second at 165, and Kyle O'Boyle third at 166.
Ruth Visnaw won her third women's crown with the title Sunday, August 17, at the St. Ignace Golf Club. Her first two titles came in 2003 and 2005. Victor Matson finished first in the third flight with a score of 172. Chris Levi placed second at 179, and Joe Krause third at 180.
Russ Caskey placed first in the fourth flight at 187, Josh Zike second at 191, and Steve Stokes third at 193.
