Ten Selected for 2009 U.P. Sports Hall of Fame Induction

      Ten candidates were selected for induction into the 2009 Upper Peninsula Sports Hall of Fame during the annual meeting of the committee Saturday, July 26, in Menominee. One of the inductees is a St. Ignace summer resident. John Berrigan of Escanaba, Bob Gingrass of Iron Mountain, and Mark Olson of Marquette were the three new members selected from the pre-1960 nominees.

Saints Girls Basketball Team Volunteer at Picnic
     St. Ignace girls basketball team, with coaches Doreen and Doug Ingalls and their children, volunteered their time to work at the Kewadin Casino team member picnic Wednesday, August 13, from noon to 6 p.m. They helped children on and off inflatable games and will receive credit for community service hours.
